Making immersive technology tangible within a communication-rich organisation.
Within IBM, an organisation already supported by a wide range of communication tools, the question arose how Virtual Reality could add real value. Rather than positioning VR as another channel, the focus was on making its potential tangible through direct experience.
Two focused, hands-on sessions were organised in which Virtual Reality was not only discussed, but actively experienced.
Interactive presentation for IBM iX
Exploring what VR can add to existing communication tools, beyond presentations, videos and workshops.
Young IBM Meetup
Investigating how VR can support Diversity & Inclusion by bringing people closer together through shared experiences.
The sessions were designed to be compact and experiential, allowing the value of 360° VR to become immediately clear:
Live demonstrations of 360° experiences and interactive environments
Short case stories to illustrate the impact of VR in practice
Co-creation assignments in which participants developed their own VR applications
The sessions showed how VR can deepen communication and strengthen inclusion. By literally seeing through another person’s eyes, participants developed greater empathy and generated new ideas. For IBM, VR proved not to be just another communication tool, but an accelerator — creating connection where words alone sometimes fall short.
