360° VR Hospitality Security Staff Exam – SVH

How do you prepare future hospitality security staff for the complexity of their work? A written exam only tells part of the story. SVH wanted to develop a method that is more realistic, fair, and closer to real-world practice.

Our approach

Together, we developed a pilot for an interactive 360° VR exam. Candidates were no longer just questioned, but literally immersed in recognizable situations. Wearing a VR headset, they find themselves in the midst of hospitality life — with all the tensions, dilemmas, and choices that come with it.

The production included:

• Script development based on real-life experiences

• Casting and directing actors from the industry

• 360° film recordings in 8K, complemented with spatial audio for full immersion

• Editing and optimization in collaboration with TNO, who developed the VR application

The result

For vocational students in hospitality programs, an exam experience emerged that does justice to the reality of the profession. No longer just theory, but also practical feel: dealing with pressure, assessing people, making decisions in a split second.

With this project, SVH took a step forward in developing innovative, realistic, and effective teaching and examination methods. Technology thus became a tool to make craftsmanship tangible and assessable.
