Objectives:
βTo publicize the unique collection and the philosophy behind it
– To make the collection accessible for museums
How do you make a special collection accessible to a wide audience? The H. Keijser Foundation not only wanted to showcase 900 unique rattles from all times and cultures, but also keep the philosophy of collector Heinz Keijser (1911β1988) alive.
In collaboration with the foundation, we developed a strategy and concept to unlock the collection. The goal was twofold:
To introduce the public to the richness and diversity of the collection
To make the collection available to museums and researchers
We opted for a digital presentation in which the objects take center stage. Visitors can easily browse through the collection, zoom in on details and make their own voyage of discovery via a search screen.
The website www.collectiekeijser.nl makes the entire collection accessible to everyone. This ensures that the life’s work of Heinz Keijser remains not hidden, but visible and inspiring β for enthusiasts, researchers and museums.
This case shows how strategy, design and digital production together can make heritage tangible and future-proof. www.collectiekeijser.nl
