Online composition application
To engage high school students with contemporary classical music, an online composition application was developed for ‘Festival in de Branding’.
Education
Musical building blocks, pre-prepared by professional musicians Micha Hamel and Guus Janssen, allowed students to create their own compositions, while advice and guidance were readily available through email contact with students from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.
Competition
After submission, the compositions were judged by a professional jury, and the winning piece was subsequently performed at Festival in de Branding. This playfully and interactively traversed the journey from analog to digital and back to analog, fostering a modern, engaged perspective on both contemporary and classical media.
