How do you show that innovation within government is not only about policy and plans, but also about courage, collaboration and tangible results? The Ministry of Security and Justice asked us to develop a creative concept that could tell this story — through a promo film, an inspirational film and an infographic.
We chose an approach that put people at the center. No abstract explanations, but personal stories and passionate quotes from the partners involved: Airbus, Defence, Police, The Hague Security Delta, TNO, TU Delft, KNMI, NCTV, FIOD and many others. Together, they form the triple helix in which government, knowledge institutions and industry reinforce one another.
The promo film was designed as a dynamic trailer. Results and successes followed each other in rapid succession, interspersed with short, powerful statements from the people driving the programme. No explanations, but energy. No reports, but passion.
The inspirational film went deeper. Here, employees of the Ministry and its partners spoke about their roles, experiences and motivations. Three phases took center stage: starting an innovation programme, open collaboration during realization, and final implementation with the end user. Together, these stories formed a mosaic of vision and determination.
The films showed what becomes possible when people and organizations unite around a shared ambition. Innovative satellite applications were made tangible — not as technical projects, but as concrete contributions to the safety of the Netherlands.
The story of this programme became more than communication. It was a tribute to vision, courage and collaboration — and to the people who make it possible every day.
How do you distill a complex innovation programme to its essence? By putting simplicity and clarity first. For the Ministry of Security and Justice, we developed an infographic that made the programme’s key results and highlights accessible.
We chose a design in which information and imagery reinforce one another. Contrasting colours guide the eye, while a logical flow takes the viewer step by step through the content. The balance is deliberate: structured enough to inform, visual enough to engage. Graphic elements from the films return in the infographic, creating a single recognizable visual line. Where needed, a voice-over supports the message without breaking the simplicity.
In addition to film and infographic, we also developed an online presentation in Prezi. The goal: to present the message in a dynamic and interactive way to various audiences. In close collaboration with the Ministry, we created a presentation that is not only informative but also inspiring — showing how innovation takes shape in practice.
